ROCKEDUP RICKY'S AKRCC Deimos
My thoughts on the AKRCC DEIMOS chassis. My rig has never handled this good before.
It's stable and predictable and well balanced , it's smooth articulation of the suspension allows for truck to work the rocks.
With the adjustment holes, finding your set-up will be easy. The skid plate with it's center groove that helps to hold your line when dragging the skid on the rocks. I'm learning to use the groove to hang on to rocks .
I support a Team myself, TEAM AVERY. My sons and I will be running AKRCC chassis on our rigs. I built them a AKRCC ARES chassis and it rocks too.
Two great AKRCC CHASSIS and more to come. I got to get working on the Super.

I loved both new chassis. They run awesome. I could deffinately see an edge if I had one. Put my name on one when they come avail. Had a blast watching them run today and was able very little to keep up with my Axial. Dig is a must on my rig.

Check out my body nuts. I guess thats what you'd call them. See those little black squares, thats where my body pins use to be. I got tired of them popping off and hanging up on the rocks. So I threaded the bodypost and made these thin rounded off body nuts out of derlin . They haven't fell off yet and they don't get hung up on the rocks.

I didn't see the new post, lol. That is a crazy good idea! I hope you don't mind if I use it. Except I'll be using 1/8th inch aluminum.
Re: ROCKEDUP RICKY'S AKRCC Deimos
I was thinking about that, but I think they would break where the plastic ones would flex. I just threaded what was on there and yes you can use it, I'm a tell all kind of guy.Shaun wrote:I didn't see the new post, lol. That is a crazy good idea! I hope you don't mind if I use it. Re: ROCKEDUP RICKY'S AKRCC Deimos
Got another win at the NWARC comp. bbyrd gave me a good run, we tied on the total and I got him with the tie breaker.
I really liking these mayhem wheels. I got just the 5/8 ring on front,no weight and it at about 15oz a wheel, tire and foam. I put the 5/8 ring in the back ,but didn't like that much weight, but liked the 5/8 ring better than the 1/2 ring. So I drilled out the 5/8 ring and it's the same weight as the 1/2 now. It seems to be working for me. I'm running a soft memory in the front and a fairly soft non memory in the rear. This is feeling really good to me right now.
I got me a Losi comp body and mounted it up. It weights .75oz less than my old body after I painted it. That should help my CG a little too.
I'll post some pics of it later.

Re: ROCKEDUP RICKY'S AKRCC Deimos
I trying out some of the new Panther tires.
Rig weight 7lb 5oz
Front wheel, tire , and a soft memory foam weighs in at 15oz
rear wheel , tire and a soft nonmemory foam weighs in at 13oz.
I might shave a little weight off the back, but I'll drive it like this for a while.
I think I'm going to like them better than both the Hotbodys and the cougars. They seem to do good at slow speeds and on the steep stuff. As far as needing wheel speed for the steep stuff , don't all tires. I was able to get some wheel speed to get up some stuff and stop close to the top and go slower. They clear out real nice and getting wet don't slow them down.
I don't really have any slick rock around me to test on, I know a spot but haven't got the yet.
I think they will work better after they wear down a little. Tires seem to do better for me when they get about half worn out.

Re: ROCKEDUP RICKY'S AKRCC Deimos
The last two club comps at Keystone, silly I keept it cover with a towel cause I put it upside down so I don't get flat spots on my foams, and the towle keeps the sun from getting my eletronics hot and the dirt out. And I don't want anybody to steal my secretsDARKHORSE wrote:ROCKEDUP RICKY wrote:I've had that lid at the last 2 comps.
