Re: My 1.9 jeep buildoff
Well I know time is about up for the buildoff, And as much as I hate saying that I wont be finished on time really stinks. I had a family member fly in, So I didnt have much time to work on it for a good week. I got all the diamond plate crush corners done, I also got all the 4 link mounts and links done, I also made a front steering arm made. I will attach detailed pics later. I just wanted for you all to see what is done so far. And in order to get this jeep done right it will take a bit longer to do, I still have the headrests to do, The modified winch I made, all 4 shocks and a bunch of other things left to fabricate. But I guarantee it will be ready for the summer scale competition in july. Good Luck to all the guys in the Wrangler Buildoff..

Re: My 1.9 jeep buildoff
Well, I got some more done. It now able to stand on its own. First I had to make spring perches to attach to the frame and to the 4 link mounts. I then added a set of stock TLT springs. I also took a set of TLT shocks turned them down and cut the body and shaft of them down about a quarter of an inch for a more scale appearance. I then made a set of shock hoops and quickly ran out of Oxygen while bazing the second one (DAMN)..
So I started making a scale semi working winch. I started with a proline winch and quickly ripped it apart. I ditched the fake fairlead for one off of my 3 racing winch. I then used a Viper alarm hood pin switch as the drum and turned the ends down to fit bearings to each ends. I then drilled into the end of the drum and brazed a shaft on the end and attached the end of the winch to it. Then I added some steel cable that a friend had sent me a while back (THANKS HALFCAB). I then bought a scale hook from 500swmag http://rccrawler.com/forum/showthread.php?t=167828 So now I can pull the winch hook and line out and then twist the end of the winch body and wind in the hook.. I have a bunch more pics of the winch and shocks while I was making them, I will post them up later today..

Re: My 1.9 jeep buildoff
Well guys, Sorry for the Delay.. Ive been busy here at work, So now that I have some inbetween time I have been slowly putting the JK together. Here are alot of pics.. I hope you like it so far?
Here is a pic of how it looks as of 10 minutes ago
Here are what the stock seats and headrests look like before I modded them. I cut the headrests off the top and then used styrene to fill in the backs of the seats and headrests. I then added polls to the headrests and inserted them into the top of the seats.
I then modified a stock axial trans by cutting out and removing the middle gear so I can get better gear reduction, And a more compact so I use it as a transfercase. I also built the transfercase crossmember so it tucks up nicely against the floorpan.
I then made the mounts to hold the motor and gd600. I am using a 65t motor and using the gd600 as a transmission.
The bellend of the motor slides into the front motormount and then I will bolt down the rear mount for easy removal or repair.
Here is a pic of my modified tlt shocks that I turned down, And then shortened the shock body and shock pistons. Oh and I made my own KING off road shock stickers.. Sorry for the blurry pics
Onto the flex shots

Re: My 1.9 jeep buildoff
A little sneek peak for you guys.. Ill get you more when I put it together..
I was torn between Red, And Yellow. So I went with Sunset orange metallic
Tomorrow I will have all the trim, And everything all painted up, And then its time to slap the body on the chassis.
