Post by RICKY AVERY Tue Nov 24, 2009 9:54 pm

getting started on my son Jarred's Bully, I'm using JP customs Hellstrom chassis with a JP cab.
I'm starting off building the chassis and building panels for the chassis. I've got a Jconcepts gate killer body to cut up.
I cut the top out of the gate killer body, I like the sun roof and the ridges it has down the back. I'm going to be using the sides of gate killer body for side panels.

I got the lower and upper links put together today, I used the Traxxas 5525 rod ends, I like them ,they are long so I can cut them to get the size I want.

I like it, but I think I would do it a little different next time, Just a little.

JP CUSTOM BODILESS BULLY Empty Just Thanking my Sponsors

Post by RICKY AVERY Sun Dec 06, 2009 3:35 pm

After I get one together all mocked up like I think I want it. I start over and tear it all apart.

The 1st thing I do is the gear cases, I get them all greased up.

JP CUSTOM BODILESS BULLY DSC04647

I always use my favorite grease

JP CUSTOM BODILESS BULLY DSC04648

I use a little blue locktite on everything.

JP CUSTOM BODILESS BULLY DSC04649

Those bushings on the front knuckle can be fun to put in with them wanting to fall out before you get the screw in, so I put a little grease on them and they stick.

JP CUSTOM BODILESS BULLY DSC04650

I'm using the RC4WD sterring kit ,it seems to work good on the other rig.

JP CUSTOM BODILESS BULLY DSC04651

Got the front axle done and the motor mounted.

JP CUSTOM BODILESS BULLY DSC04652

JP CUSTOM BODILESS BULLY DSC04653

Back axles is on and shocks mounted.

It's a roller again, I'll get the electronics in as soon as I get them, they are on the way. I got a radio from bbyrd, ESC from JP customs and a punk dig.

I really like these Vanquish rims, I got 1inch wheels all the way around with 725 hubs in front and 600 hubs in the rear. Nova's 2 stage foams all the way around. I did cut a 1/4in off the inter foam in the front. After using them on Dave's bully I decided the front needed a little forward bite and that worked for his rig.

I made a tray for my Punk dig switch and receiver.

JP CUSTOM BODILESS BULLY DSC04661

JP CUSTOM BODILESS BULLY DSC04662

I put the new TorqueMaster BR-XL in the belly of the chassis.

JP CUSTOM BODILESS BULLY DSC04663

I got the battery hanging on the front upper links.

JP CUSTOM BODILESS BULLY DSC04664

Then I bolted the dig/receiver tray in the cab.

JP CUSTOM BODILESS BULLY Empty Just Thanking my Sponsors

Post by RICKY AVERY Wed Dec 16, 2009 6:52 pm

I found this Duratrax motor guards and used some Associated chassis protective sheet to make a nice clean skid for the motor and axle housing. I just had to trim the motor guard a little and I made the chassis sheet overlap on the motor guard a little to help hold it in place along with some zip ties on the top. On the zip ties I ran it from hole to hole ,then I cut the head off another zip tie and put it on.
